What are full page popunder?

Pop-under ads are a slightly more polite version of a pop-up. They still appear in a new window, but the window is minimized. Often the user doesn't notice it until they close the main browser window.

Pop-unders generally annoy users less than pop-ups, but when several of them pile up they can still cause trouble. I recommend displaying only one pop-under per user per day or per browser session.

Unfortunately, pop-unders are often lumped into the same category as pop-ups, and most pop-up blocker software will also prevent pop-unders from displaying. As the use of these programs increases, revenue from both types of pop ads will decrease.

What are inline text links?

Inline text links are ads that appear as a brief text description in a box with a clear call-to-action makes users curious to find more information on the partner's site. These ads only appear when the mouse pointer is moved over certain words and is perfectly relevant to the content.

Inline text links are great when you want to save valuable space on your web pages; they are also similar to newspaper headlines that raise interest for a distinctive topic. With the possibility of frequent format changes, very few restrictions and no spending for the development of graphical ad formats, text links are a pure, yet effective option to advertise cross the internet.

What are text banners?

In the early days of the Web, everything was text - there were no graphics. While the Web has become more and more graphical, the latest trend in advertising is to take a step backwards to simple text ads.

Many sites offer text ads, which typically consist of one or two lines of text and a link. Users seem more likely to click on these ads, and when they appear within content rather than at the top of the page in a banner-sized box, they do even better.

As the workhorse of web advertising, text ads come in different colors and sizes, including leaderboards, skyscrapers and all industry standard sizes. These ads allow you to present your message quickly and effectively. The advertiser's message is always shown on the page.

What are graphical banners?

People always say pictures are worth more than a thousand words, and this is the case with graphical banners it has to be eye-catchy enough to draw the attention of the visitors. It is up to the advertisers to display what they would like within the graphical space that can they want, including logos and photos, in various sizes. These ads complement the publisher pages esthetically and blend in contextually.

When the user click on the graphical banner they should land on another page that the advertiser set up to address more information about the product/service and what they would like the user to do.

Graphical ads allow you to say it in pictures to boast a higher viewer retention rate than radio or television. Advertisers show whatever image they want, including logos and photos, in various sizes. These ads complement the publisher pages esthetically and blend in contextually.

What are rich media banners?

Rich media banners provide you with a way to present additional content and interaction within traditional ad sizes. With the technologies now available, rich media banners offer a great deal of flexibility and creative latitude in banner design.

Over the past few years rich media has proven to be extremely effective and the click through rates is amongst the highest in the online advertising industry. Rich media is usually designed in flash and because of the powerful features that Flash has it can combine quality graphics with sound and fantastic animation. This allows the advertiser to really get attention focused on the user. On click or mouse over actions also allows for more functionality and all of these can ensure good click through ratios. Java, JavaScript and DHTML can also be used for rich media but we recommend the use of Macromedia Flash.

What are layer ads?

Experienced users tend to quickly close a pop-up window without looking at it or worse, use a pop-up blocker to prevent it from appearing at all. Layer ads attempt to solve this problem by taking a more in-your-face approach.

If you've seen an ad that slid across the page, bounced around, or slid down from a banner, you've seen a layer ad. If you're like me, you probably grumbled and left the site as quickly as possible. Nevertheless, if you have a dedicated audience that won't let a bit of obnoxiousness stand in their way of enjoying your site, these can be some of the highest-paying creative.

What are search boxes?

Each result will show the user a brief description or a few keywords of what the website offer so the user is able to see if the whether the website can cater to their needs.

What are XML feeds?

XML feeds are basically partnering up with other search engines to provide the user with more information in facilitating more search results to the users. They are written in simplified version of HTML in which they are fed in search engine index and can read and interpret the data for maximum keyword exposure.
